Psychoanalyst, Dr. Roger Sterling, accepts an invitation from Seaville, California Fire Chief Richard Bradford, to help him track down a serial arsonist. Dr. Sterling soon finds himself on a harrowing journey that traces the connection between a traumatized mind, a busy suburban community, and the incredibly destructive properties of a California wildfire. Very quickly he discovers that there is a fine line between the mesmerizing excitement of fire, and its potential dangers. In the end, Dr. Sterling must confront the fact that arson occurs every 43 minutes in California, and his conclusion that there is an arsonist's personality lurking behind everyone. This is the first novel of the Seaville Wildfire Trilogy.
