Publisher's Synopsis
It's hard not to feel despair in a world marked by such extreme polarization-a world haunted not only by the potential death of humanity, but by the death of our humanity. We need to replace doomerism, denial, and indifference with clear seeing and accurate action. Once we clearly see the the deeper root cause, which we have identified as a "global intimacy disorder," the solution becomes clear: we need a new Story of Value rooted in the First Principles and First Values of Cosmos to ground us in a new global intimacy, which will in turn generate the global resonance, coherence, and coordination urgently necessary to respond to existential risk.
As part of this new Story, which we are calling "CosmoErotic Humanism," we are called to realize and evolve as individual Unique Selves, transcending and including identifications with psychological separate self and spiritual True Self. We move through, accept, and process our insidious and multi-layered shame. We find the deep, ever-present joy in the post-tragic on the other side of the tragic. The realization of our Unique Self identity generates intimate communion and effective shared purpose, both personally and collectively. We are able to be truly aligned and intimate with each other, producing the social synergies that emerge from our "Unique Self Symphonies."
