Publisher's Synopsis
I go back in time to 1990 when I composed forty-two charismatic, yet polished, religious poems inspired by Christian Scripture and my young life. After a heartfelt commentary from then, I've added retrospectives on each poem from my humanist perspective now as a wiser, wittier person with a physical challenge. I'm inspired not only by life but also much research into history. I believe people can be good without belief in a god simply by being the best person they can be. It's frustrating that religious people assume that the millions of nonreligious people in the world need to be preached at and insulted. Humanists don't have a voice they can hear, but maybe I will start the conversation with my book, the first of several planned. It has eight chapters focusing on different emotions and characters/settings with a little over a hundred pages.
