They present detailed historical investigations into the sources and problems of the history of Late Antiquity, and argue for some of the groundwork assumed in the author's recent books.;Two studies in particular, one as yet unpublished, provide a far-reaching analysis of one of the key works of the early Church, Eusebius' "Life of Constantine".
