Publisher's Synopsis
The four books of the Quaternary covers the period from 1990-2130 as Freak pushes technology advances forwards by several centuries, totally reshaping society by dismantling the ability to wage wars, or the need for money, or work! Part One of Freak covers a three week period following the brutal kidnapping of her 14 year old sister. The methods she uses to try and save her sibling will ultimately set in train the threat of her own destruction. Flashbacks in alternate chapters chart her life and rise to power. Born to a latter-day Hippie mother, whose broad-mindedness shape's Freak's outlook, her millionaire step-father feels morally obliged to throw unlimited money on her private education. Correcting Einstein's errors at the age of 15-and immediately hiding them again when she realises their potential military use- she moves into the world of International Finance. Her secret passion with computers means every file on them is available to her eyes, and when she is saved from assassination by international criminals, by the father-figure who becomes her life-partner, she builds up the planet's largest high-tech and finance institutions, but at enormous personal cost to herself, her closest friends, and especially her estranged family, whom she almost destroys.
