And they had a club, the Jacobi Club was a clubhouse for alcoholics to go to, much like we have today, to be safe when you're not working and can be self-destructive, this was a place for you to go.
So, they have a lot of the ingredients that we now have within what's called our fellowship.
Courtney Baylor had one patient called, Richard Peabody, and he wrote the Common Sense of Drinking, which was a very powerful influence on Bill, according to Bill.
The Common Sense of Drinking was in Bill's library and Richard Peabody was a psychologist, and he wrote this book.
And this book, again, reaffirms abstinence.
It reaffirms the fact that you need a spiritual program to calm you so that you're not so self-destructive, and it gives you ways of living."
