Publisher's Synopsis
"Forum on Crime and Society" aims to encourage international debate and to present theoretically sound, well researched, policy-oriented articles on crime prevention and criminal justice. It focuses on trends, ideas and practices that are of particular significance to the international community.;The journal has two sections. The first contains academic articles, the format, length and presentation style of which follow the conventional criteria adopted in other academic journals. The second section, entitled "Notes and action", offers an opportunity for authors to present less conventional material, including shorter papers and commentaries on practical experiences, legislation and policy initiatives.;The "Forum" is published twice a year in all six official languages of the United Nations: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. The editorial board responsible for the publication hope that the "Forum" will enable UN researchers to forge a partnership with non-UN scholars and experts in order to advance knowledge and improve practice in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice.
