When Will - soon unwillingly christened "Posh Lad" - starts a years' apprenticeship with Stanley Lampitt, he expects horses, fresh air and a solid training in forge-work. He's not quite prepared for Stanley's method of teaching, though. But this unique approach teaches Will a whole lot more than what it is to be a good farrier, including how not to woo a girl and how to avoid being bitten by a psychopathic Jack Russell.
