Publisher's Synopsis
Kosta was IMRO and MPO member, contributor of the Macedono-Bulgarian Church in Detroit, MI. When we met, Grandpa Kosta's first words were: "I finally lived to see a Bulgarian flag at an MPO Convention!" The flag of the Kostur regiment from 1912, which we carried, was white, green, red, with a golden lion The thing that Dedo Kosta was not able to tell us was how he became a successful business owner of a company with more than fifty people in the Mecca of the automobile industry - Detroit. He also couldn't tell us how he and Dragica had helped hundreds of immigrants from Macedonia and Bulgaria, how they hired unemployed people just to help them. He also couldn't tell us how Baba Dragitsa was helping our immigrants by taking them to courts and government buildings to translate, filling out documents, helping them with money, housing, and so on. They had helped hundreds of people for free. I can not forget the evenings of the MPO's in which we Bulgarian patriots got together and sang patriotic songs and told stories. A gallon of rakia and chips were always provided by Dedo Kosta and Baba Dragitsa. Whenever someone toasted, "Cheers for Macedonia!", Dedo Kosta always added: "But don't forget Mother Bulgaria too!"
