Focus on the South East is produced jointly by the Office for National Statistics and the Government Office for the South East. Designed as a reference work for anyone with an interest in today's Britain, from planners and researchers to students, teachers, business people and the general reader. Local authorities, companies and other agencies can use it to research investment, marketing and recruitment decisions. The South East described in this publication comprises the nine 'counties' of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex. It excludes London. Seven chapters contain commentary, tables, charts and maps. Much of the data is presented at 'county' and local authority district level.
