Publisher's Synopsis
Developed from a symposium sponsored by the Division of Organic Chemistry at the 204th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society held in Washington, DC, August 23-28, 1992, this study of fluorescent chemosensors for ion and molecule recognition: presents new information in the design and synthesis of fluorescent chemosensors; discusses hw to design sensors for small molecules for which biotic receptors have not yet evolved or are not readily adapted for sensing purposes; bridges the gap between communities needing chemosensors and those able to synthesize chemosensors; and provides a suitable introduction to sensors for organic chemists interested in this field.
