Flight chronicles the evolution of Black/African Studies and explores its potential for for spearheading contemporary efforts to confront various intellectual and social challenges. Exploring a wide breadth of subject matters these essays challenge persisting misconceptions that African Studies is simply the uncoordinated study of the experience of people of African descent. The volume is made up of several essays and poems which are arranged in to six sections including: historical perspectives, racial identity, economic transformation and science and technology.
