Publisher's Synopsis
When Amelia Earhart was lost on her round-the-word flight in 1937, Rebecca Fletcher's dream was to complete the flight she had attempted. A wealthy philanthropist agreed to finance the venture provided his playboy son, Chad Owens, accompany her, hoping it will make a man of him. Somewhere over Eastern Turkey a storm blows them off course. Their fuel exhausted, they crash-land in the jungle at the edge of the Sudan Desert. They are captured by hostile natives and soon find themselves embroiled in a life or death struggle with ivory poachers; pigmies who silently kill with poison darts, and a palace intrigue in the lost city of Zanakor where the captain of the guard plots to overthrow the king. To complicate matters, Becky is believed, by the king of Zanakor, to be the reincarnation of a long dead princess who guarded the elephants' graveyard.
