In this classic children's adventure, five siblings-Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane, and their baby brother known as the Lamb-discover a magical, wish-granting creature called a Psammead buried in a sandpit near their country home. The Psammead is a grumpy, ancient being with the power to grant one wish a day, but each wish ends at sunset. As the children make their wishes, they quickly realize that magic can lead to unexpected consequences, bringing humor, adventure, and sometimes trouble. Through their experiences, they learn valuable lessons about friendship, family, and the true nature of wishes.
