Publisher's Synopsis
In this collection of poems, the author uses his skills as both poet and pediatrician to chronicle the experience of being first time parents to a baby girl. There are multiple explorations on the themes of love, humility and the humor that goes along with the parent-child relationship. In addition, he also manages to capture the way in which the passage of time leads to growth and development in the dynamic period of the first two years of life by marking each well child pediatrician visit with a poem describing what his daughter is doing at that moment. Parents and grandparents will identify with the struggles and joys, while expectant parents will get a glimpse of what is to come, all tempered with a healthy dose of finding poetic beauty in everyday life.
