Verplancke Klaas (b. 1964) is one of the most famous Flemish illustrators known. He studied graphic design and advertising photography at the St. Luke Institute in Ghent. Since its inception in 1990, he has illustrated over 140 books and made countless contributions to newspapers and magazines. His work is published in the meantime more than 40 translations, and recently also in China. Having collaborated with many Dutch and Flemish authors, he also runs as an author of books and texts for songs and theater in 2000. Jot A timeless parable, was a breakthrough. Then followed Wortel and the double volume Nopjes and Reus 2005. These books have been adapted for the stage.
