Publisher's Synopsis
My dearest wish is that my book will make you want to delve into the subject on your own to help you find another way to seek balance, YOUR balance.
On the other hand, to approach the Tao thought - and to deepen it if necessary -, it is necessary to know certain primordial notions which will favor the comprehension of the existing texts. I therefore offer you without further delay to follow me on the path to discovering the tao. Tao means "the Way", "the Way", and represents the set of forces and cycles which govern the natural Universe. To be a follower of the tao or to seek the tao is therefore to be in search of the Way which leads towards harmony with the visible and invisible Universe which surrounds us.To carry out this process, one is not obliged to adhere to a religion. You can meditate, do tai chi or aikido without having to radically change your lifestyle or lock yourself in a monastery for the rest of your life.
This search for harmony presupposes qualities such as modesty and obedience to the natural order of things. These are essential virtues for those who want to blend into the Universe and evolve at the same pace as them. If you've been at all interested in activities like tai chi (gymnastics), aikido (martial art), or feng shui (the art of organizing objects in a harmonious way), you are probably familiar with terms like yin. and yang, harmony and tao.
For others, Taoism, Confucianism, Zen Buddhism and all that is connected with it are only "chinoiseries" derived from the new age and are reserved for the rich actors of Hollywood, to the members of occult sects or to the merchants of dreams
There is of course a Taoist religion which has all its panoply of gods, rites and prayers, but the search for the Tao does not require such an investment a priori.
I do not intend to go into the intricacies and ramifications of this extremely rich universe by writing a scholarly work that no one will want to read or convert anyone to anything.
