Most of us come up with all of this gobbledygook for our resume. I sell advertising for the Los Angeles Times. I make movies for Walt Disney Studios. I install air conditioners for Fairfax Heating & Cooling. I teach Social Studies at Florence Nightingale Middle School. I'm an internet marketer at Glendale Nissan. The problem is there are at least a dozen other people in Los Angeles who do these same things.
What you need to do is tell people "How you get your Pepsi(TM) on!"
You need to tell people what makes you special? You need to share your personal story line?
It's hard for most people to talk about themselves objectively. But if you want to find a California job in this economy you need to develop an arsenal of stories and tactics to help employers get to know the real you.
The main thing to remember is: Be honest. Be yourself. Chances are employers are looking for someone just like you. You just need to help them connect the dots, and understand you are just the person they are looking for.
