They also used excuses to defend their behaviors or delay taking action when it was needed. Others made excuses as a means of shirking their responsibility. Many faced internal challenges, so they would place blame on external conditions to avoid facing that reality. Making excuses caused them to sell themselves short when it came to their abilities and how they performed in certain situations. It was an avoidance behavior that prevented them from getting what they desired or needed to accomplish. The truth is that every excuse took them further away from reaching their full potential. Their excuses may have stopped them from taking advantage of opportunities they might never get back. They could have slowed their growth and hindered success in areas they could otherwise have been thriving in. As you read through these pages, Natalie encourages you to reflect on each situation and ask yourself how it may relate to something you have faced in your life or may be challenged with right now. She hope to motivate you to improve your life, health, eating, exercise and service habits by using the advice she shares in these pages.
