Publisher's Synopsis
Ron panicked as he heard the doctor tell him his wife Ella had Alzheimers. Before her diagnoses, he had been afraid to even think the word Alzheimers, let alone say it aloud. He knew Alzheimers was a cruel disease, and was convinced it signaled the end of their life. Still, being an optimist, he declared war on Alzheimers, a war he vowed to win. Following several weeks of research, he developed his own plan. It was simple, had only 4 words; Love, Humor Patience and Pictures. Sounds simple right, but Ron knew they were only words and words without action, meant nothing. Fighting Alzheimers tells it all, it tells the good, the bad, the funny and funnier, and tells the story of how Ron, Ella's only caregiver, has not only survived, but is flourishing, as he deals with Ella's Alzheimers. How is that possible? Does the plan really work, what about Ella, did the plan help her as well, has it changed their lives and if so how, and how long can it be sustained?
