The returns Of the steam railroads in New Hampshire, for the twelve months ending June 30, 1898, which is the railroad year known as 1898, do not re?ect a business recovery. The volume of traffic, though slightly increased over 1897, was not as large as in 1896, and was much smaller than was hoped and expected.
