Excerpt from Fifty-First Annual Report of the Clarke School for the Deaf, North Hampton, Mass., For the Year Ending August 31, 1918
Dear sir - The number of pupils in the Clarke School for the year 1917-18 was 161. Of these 133 were from Massachusetts. There were 4 from the State of New Hampshire and 24 private or paying pupils.
At the close of the year six pupils were graduated from the normal course.
A notable feature of the year was the large amount of Red Cross work done by the older boys and girls.
