Excerpt from Fifteenth Biennial Report of the Montana State Board of Health, for the Years 1929-1930: Vital Statistics for the Years 1928-1929
With two exceptions, the state has been remarkably free from serious epidemics during the past two years. There was a serious epi demic of typhoid fever in the City of Helena during the fall of 1929. This was due to the plugging of a sewer, which resulted in a connection between the sewer and one of the public water supplies. A detailed description of this epidemic from an epidemiological standpoint will be found in the report of the epidemiologist.
