Part I contains a menu of all kinds of possible field tasks along with models for everything from an Observation worksheet using NCTM Professional Teaching Standards to a Literature and Math Lesson template to a criteria list for evaluating mathematics software, to name a few. Part II contains 24 additional Expanded Lessons written by John Van de Walle for each of the NCTM content strands and each grade span (K-2, 3-5, 6-8). This part also includes reproducible handouts for 10 mathematical tasks, and 11 balanced assessment tasks complete with worksheets, rubrics, and sample solutions. Finally, Part III includes all the blackline masters referenced in the Expanded Lessons in the textbook and this field experience guide and instructions for creating these into card stock materials or transparencies.
