Publisher's Synopsis
What I Wish to Be
by Femi
I want to be healthy.
I want to be smart.
I want to be normal like all the other kids.
I want to do all the things, no matter how hard.
But for now
I'm going to be fine.
I've gotta be fine
For all the people with high expectations for me.
I want so many things . . . Ten-year-old Femi received a heart transplant in July 2014. The vivacious girl with the beautiful smile and larger-than-life personality lived to the fullest despite pain and suffering. Five years after receiving a heart transplant, Femi left this earth. Her parents launched the Olouwafemi S. J. Tevoedjre Foundation on the one-year anniversary of her death. Femi's heart for the sick and the orphan will continue to live on through blood drives, scholarships, medical mission trips and the advancement of pediatric cardiology healthcare in the Republic of Benin, along with an orphanage which will be built in her honor. Chronicled in these pages, Femi's incredible life and legacy point to the hope Jesus offers-eternal life which extends beyond the grave.
