Refractive error is the most common ocular surface disease, among which myopia has a relatively wide impact. It is predicted that by 2050, 5 billion people globally will be affected by myopia, and 1 billion people will suffer from high myopia, particularly in East and Southeast Asian countries. In China, myopia among children and adolescents has become prevalent, with the incidence rate ranking first in the world. In addition, myopia also imposes a heavy economic and social burden. Therefore, myopia has become a global public health issue that urgently needs to be addressed.
