The first edition of this book was published in 1988; since then there have been two major legislative changes in the extradition regime and the subject has engendered considerable litigation in the High Court and the Supreme Court. Major developments have also occurred in the UK courts and in the Human Rights Court in Strasbourg which are directly relevant to the law in Ireland. All of these new developments are incorporated into the second edition, which also expands the discussion of many previous topics. The appendix includes the Extradition Act 1965, as amended, and various extradition treaties, rules etc.
