Excerpt from Extracts From the Records of the Convention of the Royal Burghs of Scotland: 1711-38
The abbreviation of the entries in the minute-books of the Convention has been carried farther in this than in the preceding volumes, and it was hoped that the condensation might have enabled the present volume to come as far down as l 749, or, at all events, to include the references to the Rebellion of 1745. But it has been found to be impossible to get beyond 1 7 3 8.
