Publisher's Synopsis
East of Jasper, the foothills and Front Ranges of Alberta's Eastern Slopes are known as the Coal Branch. Within its borders lie Cadomin Cave, Whitehorse Wildland Park and Cardinal Pass. Hikes and mountain bike trips are centred around the mining communities of Robb and Cadomin and range in duration from a few hours on mine site exploration to three-day forays inot Jasper National Park. A number of trips venture above treeline onto the grassy summits for which the area is well known. There are informative sidebars about the area's mining history.
