Publisher's Synopsis
Modeled on the Expert Panels that have become popular at major conferences, this is the first book in this series and demonstrates to the reader that any clinical problem most likely has several alternative solutions and that rarely do they present as the textbook example. Having selected a series of topics on COPD that present complex and challenging choices, the participating experts address problem scenarios that include difficult cases and complications or dilemmas that would challenge the skills of most practitioners. The chapters provide the background to the problem, present one possible solution, and other experts offer additional perspectives, perhaps taking alternative 'what-if' scenarios that might stem from the initial intervention. A concluding section authored by one of the editors summarizes the key points and draws together the different contributions made.
