Malgr� bien des recherches, le manuscrit original des Exercices de saint Ignace n'a jamais �t� retrouv�. On a tout lieu de croire que l'auteur lui - m�me le d�truisit, apr�s l'avoir fait tirer au net par un scribe.la copie �tait destin�e � remplacer un broull lon charg� probablement de beaucoup de ratures. N�anmoins saint Ignace, de sa propre main, apporta encore des corrections au travail du scribe, plus d'une trentaine, dans la marge ou entre les lignes. Ces traces de son �criture justifient suffi samment, surtout apr�s la destruction du premier manuscrit espagnol, le nom d'autogmÿbe, attach� depuis toujours � la copie authentique.
