The opuscula deal with various topics, such as theology, rhetoric, and poetry, and reflect the intellectual and cultural richness of the Byzantine Empire. This edition is edited by T. L. F. Tafel, a German philologist and historian of the 19th century, and includes a critical apparatus and a commentary.
