Publisher's Synopsis

Since it was first published in 1970 the Industrial Relations Journal (IRJ) has sought to bridge the gap between the interests and concerns of academics and practitioners, both in the UK and other countries. More, recently the IRJ has responded to the growing importance of developments in European industrial relations and employment especially in the European Union and its member states. These developments are now of sufficient importance to justify a comprehensive annual review in addition to the IRJ s regular features. This new Review is being written by a team of leading European experts in industrial relations, employment and the law. There are additional contributions from political scientists and economists sensitive to the relationship between changing political and economic contexts and change in industrial relations and employment.

The contributors discuss and assess current issues and developments but also provide an informed, longer term perspective to appeal to a wide readership of employers, trade union officials, politicians and their advisers, and academics. The Review is edited by Professor Brian Towers and Professor Michael Terry.
