Publisher's Synopsis

The new human coronavirus, (SARS-CoV-2), which gives rise to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), has caused a serious threat to global public health. Therefore, it is essential to find effective and safe neutralizing antibodies and vaccines for COVID-19. The receptor binding domain (RBD) of the spike protein (protein S) could lead to a very potent neutralizing antibody response as well as cross-protection against other SARS strains. Using RBD as an antigen, many neutralizing antibodies are isolated and are now essential for COVID-19 therapy. Covalab is developing neutralizing antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, working in close collaboration with our research team at INSERM U1231. The objective of this project is to map exclusive epitopes for the antibodies developed. My job was to generate the molecular tools needed for the project. We were able to validate all our tools and we had first results of the mapping.
