Publisher's Synopsis
"Entering Genesis, Encountering God is a work written within the Lectio Divina tradition. While the label Lectio Divina has been translated and interpreted in various ways, here its essence is "Divine Conversation." The goal is simple: to enter Scripture in a wholistic way, that is, in a way that accounts for the whole of one's human experience, with the intent of encountering God there. The lessons in this volume are supported by linguistic, literary, historical, and theological scholarship, yet not merely in academic engagement with the text. Instead, one finds a decidedly spiritual approach to recreate a realistic narrative world that invites all into Scripture so that they might hear God and speak with him. As such, this work privileges the whole person-body, thoughts, emotions-rather than one single part. It allows the senses to intersect with an inner space where God, through Scripture and conversation, can redeem the whole. Tried
