Publisher's Synopsis
In Ephesians 6:18, the apostle Paul exhorts believers by saying, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always pray for all the Lord's people." This verse encapsulates the heart of intercession-to be in constant communion with God, lifting prayers and petitions for others.
Throughout this book, we will explore various aspects of intercession, guided by the teachings of Jesus and the apostles. In Matthew 7:7-8, Jesus encourages us, saying, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." These words remind us of the power and importance of persistent and fervent prayer.
As intercessors, we are privileged to partner with God to accomplish His purposes on earth. In 1 Timothy 2:1-4, the apostle Paul urges us to pray for all people, including those in positions of authority, saying, "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people-for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and come to know the truth." Through our prayers, we can impact individual lives and the broader society.
