Appointed to consider Community proposals, the Select Committee presents this report with evidence on the Agricultural Strategy Paper. This paper is the Commission's "Study on alternative strategies for the development of relations in the field of agriculture between the EU and the associated countries with a view to future accession of these countries". The Committee sees this paper as a step forward by the Commission in that it demonstrates that the 1992 reform of the Common Agricultural Policy was not the end of the process of reform. After taking evidence from a wide selection of interested parties, the Committee have put together this report for debate by the House.
