Englishworks is an Australian curriculum project, the underlying philosophy of which emphasises students' personal use of English. It highlights the satisfaction and enjoyment they can obtain from using English for their own needs (speaking, talking, listening and writing), to express their ideas and opinions, and to welcome other people's thoughts and reflect on them. The Englishworks books are the result of five years' planning, writing, trialling and reworking. They will enable learners to express themselves with greater critical understanding and control. Book 2 develops the concepts and skills of Book 1.
