Publisher's Synopsis
Suitable for post-secondary engineering graphics courses that are one-semester in length, this text provides a fresh perspective on engineering graphics that should appeal to instructors and students alike. The goal of the book is to engage the student in critical thinking about graphics problems that require visualization of three-dimensional objects. With a combined teaching experience of over 30 years in engineering graphics, the authors have created a text intended to equip students with the skills that they will need to succeed in their engineering course and careers. It covers the fundamentals of a one-semester graphics course (but can be used in a longer course).;The book is not intended to teach one single CAD package but provides a generic overview of drawing and modelling software programs. If required, a brief student supplement, "Using AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD Release 14", is available. A problem-solving environment is created by using a variety of graphics problems which require visualization of 3D objects and a chapter is included on "Presenting Technical Information".
