Publisher's Synopsis
The emerald tree boa was found in 1758, the strikingly wonderful tree boa Corallus caninus. The class name, Corallus, came about because of the coral-like shading and example of the boa as a youngster; caninus came to fruition because of the boa's head and calculated nose, which Linnaeus discovered suggestive of a canine. The prolonged maxillary teeth likewise take after the canine teeth of canines (just as being proportionately longer than those having a place with some other non-venomous snake).
