Katie Merlo is an Iowa native who grew up in Southern Iowa, outside Des Moines. She now resides in Clive, Iowa, with her husband, David; four children Sam, Lila, Elliot, and Mirabella; and their pets Hank, an Australian shepherd, and Delores the tortoise. Katie has had many jobs: nurse, massage therapist, baker, and mommy. She is currently focusing on the most important of those jobs, raising her four children.
Katie enjoys almost all of the moments of her children's lives and has started writing with the hope of capturing and freezing the beauty of their childhood. Like all parents, Katie finds her children amazing, intelligent, and adorable. Because they possess all of these traits, Katie has taken to writing what they say and capturing their stories. Who needs to make up a story when you have amazing funny things happen all the time?
