The book "Elements of Optical Networking" by Prof. Dr. Volkmar Brückner is dedicated to education and further training of engineers in the field of telecommunication. The book is based on the fundamentals of physics and mathematics; central concern is an understandable, mainly qualitative description of problems, and their implementation in formulas and for practical use.
