Las vocales son: a, e, i, o, u, y á veces la y. Estas son los ele mentos del sonido de una lengua; y se llaman vocales porque se ¡pronuncian simplemente al abrir y recoger la boca formando el golpe del alieñto: á saber: el de la a libre, el de la 6 cerca de los dientes, el de la en el paladar, el de la o algo mas retirado ábia el medio del paladar, y el de le u tembien eu el paladar pro lougando un poco y cesi cerrando los labios.
