Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Electrons and Positrons in a Time-Independent Electromagnetic Field: A Solution in the Schrdinger Picture
The method of solution used in the present discussion is completely analo: ous to the method used in solving the Schrodinger equation with a tine independent Hamiltonian for the one electron problem.
In the one-electron problem one finds the spectral representation of the Hamiltonian of the proolem. If the Hamiltonian can be considered as the sum of a Hamiltonian whose Spectral representation is known and an additional term which may be considered small, then one can diagonalize the total Hamiltonian by means of a canonical traisformation which when expressed in a suitable representation, satisfies an integral equation, that can be solved by a perturbation procedure.
