Publisher's Synopsis
This book covers the traditional discrete devices while incorporating updated treatment of integrated circuits. Bipolar junction transistors (BJTs), field effect transistors (FETs) and op amps are covered in a parallel rather than serial manner.;Including the circuits found in manufacturers' application notes, the book introduces the FET, using the hybrid-pi model to characterize small signal performance. De-biasing is covered, discussing BJT and FET biasing circuits side-by-side to emphasize that the same problems and basic solutions exist in both biasing circuits. Basic amplifier models are examined, while groups voltage amplifiers are divided into four basic categories - inverting, non-inverting, followers and differential. Also included is a section on cascaded amplifier systems and frequency responses.
