This monograph is designed to enable obstetricians-gynecologists to: monitor patients at risk of elder abuse; recognise signs and symptoms of elder abuse; identify abusive situations and help patients consider their options; appropriately refer women who experience elder abuse and coordinate assistance with other professionals; and, intervene when a patient's well-being or safety is jeopardized and report abuse to authorities.
