Publisher's Synopsis
The two volumes of this work examine the effectiveness of different cancer treatment modalities as applied under a range of individual conditions and, further, discusses the behaviour of residual tumours that survive such treatments. Serving as both a source of information and a guide to future research, this work deals with pre-clinical tumours, covering the short and long-term consequences of various techniques on both the host patient and the carcinoma itself. Among the many pre-clinical issues discussed in Part A are kinetics, growth factors, metastases and immunity, and genetic regulation. Part B treats clinical aspects such as biological response modifiers, radiobiology, autologous bone marrow transplantation and more.
