Publisher's Synopsis
A redesigned new edition of the diagnostic test of reading for children aged 8:6 to 10:6, this new test booklet pack (20 copies) bridges the gap between Key Stage 1 and 2 national curriculum assessments, and provides a means of checking the consolidation of reading skills at a critical phase. The Edinburgh Reading Tests are widely used by schools and local authorities to provide a detailed and reliable assessment of reading throughout junior school. The manual cites up-to-date, national data which confirm the validity of the norms. Group tests, administered by the teacher in three short sessions, provide a diagnostic profile as well as an overall reading score for each pupil. The Edinburgh reading test series was developed by Godfrey Thomson Unit and Moray House College and the Godfrey Thomson Unit, University of Edinburgh, working in collaboration with the Educational Institute of Scotland and the Scottish Education Department. This edition has been prepared and check-standardized by the Godfrey Thomson Unit.
