Publisher's Synopsis
A restandardized and redesigned new edition of the diagnostic test of reading for children aged 10:0 to 12:6, this new test booklet provides up-to-date norms (reading quotients and reading ages) based on restandardization data from pupils in England, Wales and Scotland. The Edinburgh Reading Tests are widely used by schools and local authorities to provide a detailed and reliable assessment of reading. "Stage 3" is particularly useful in providing a normative basis which complements National Curriculum assessment at primary/secondary transfer. Group tests are administered by the teacher in three short sessions and provide a diagnostic profile as well as an overall reading score for each pupil. The Edinburgh reading test series was developed by Moray House College and the Godfrey Thompson Unit, University of Edinburgh, working in collaboration with the Educational Institute of Scotland and the Scottish Education Department.
