Hemp fabric is a form of textile manufactured from fibers extracted from the Cannabis sativa plant's stalks. For millennia, this plant has been known as a source of extremely tensile and durable textile fibers, but the psychoactive properties of Cannabis sativa have recently made it more difficult for farmers to grow this extremely valuable crop. Cannabis sativa has been cultivated for two unique uses over thousands of years. On the one hand, this plant has been carefully grown over many generations to be high in tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and other intoxicating chemical ingredients known as cannabinoids.
